Dominican Republic Flag

The flag of the Dominican Republic has a centered white cross that divides the flag into four rectangles; 2 red and 2 blue. On the center is the coat of arms with a shield supported by a bay laurel brand and a palm frond. On the blue ribbon, above the shield, the national motto is written: Dios, Patria, Libertad, which means God, Fatherland, Liberty. On the red ribbon, below the shield, are the words: Republica Dominicana (Dominican Republic). On the center of the coat of arms is an opened Bible and cross. Behind the Bible and cross are 3 spears, two of which hold Dominican banners.
