- Sancocho is the national dish of Dominican Republic, a stew made with up to 7 different types of meats.
- Mangú is a side dish of pureed green plantains. Usually accompanied by eggs, meat and fried onions.
- Pescado con coco - Fish cooked in coconut milk
- Cangrejo guisado - Crab cooked with herbs
- Arroz con habichuelas - Rice and habichuelas (red beans). Rice and beans is almost never left out. Although the white rice and red beans are typically presented seperately at the dinner table, the consumer will usually mix the two on his plate to taste.
